India ended Day 1 in complete command at 318-2 after 90 overs, led by Yashasvi Jaiswal’s stunning unbeaten 173 off 253 balls. The young opener showcased maturity beyond his years, pacing his innings perfectly to grind down the West Indies attack. He found a reliable partner in debutant Sai Sudharsan, who played fluently for his 87 before falling just short of a maiden Test hundred. The duo’s 193-run partnership for the second wicket set the tone for India’s dominance after KL Rahul’s promising 38 was cut short by Jomel Warrican, who claimed both wickets to fall. Shubman Gill (20*) safely saw India through to stumps alongside Jaiswal. On a low, slow surface offering occasional turn, India’s batters made the most of favourable conditions, leaving the West Indies bowlers frustrated and the hosts well-poised for a massive first-innings total on Day 2. Follow the highlights from the 2nd IND vs WI Test.

For the visitors, Anderson Phillip came agonisingly close to trapping Rahul LBW, but with the impact and hitting being umpire’s call, India survived a scare. IND vs WI Live Score, 2nd Test Day 1: IND 63-1 (19)

What a delivery from Jomel Warrican! KL Rahul, who looked rock solid till now on 38, is undone by a ball that spun sharply and was beautifully stumped by Imlach. Rahul had advanced down the track but couldn’t quite reach the pitch of it, and the ball ripped past his outside edge, a huge breakthrough for West Indies. Sai Sudharsan, however, announced himself immediately with a boundary off his very first ball. The surface already showing plenty of turn in Delhi, a worrying sign for batters early on.

IND vs WI Live Score, 2nd Test Day 1: Lunch

28 overs gone, 94 runs on the board and just one wicket down, a classic session of Test cricket where India will be the happier side after choosing to bat first. Rahul and Jaiswal added a steady half-century stand before Rahul, who had lofted Pierre for six in the previous over, tried to repeat the shot against Warrican but was undone by sharp turn and smart flight. West Indies bowled with discipline and control, though they could only find that single breakthrough. They will take heart from their consistency, believing more rewards will come if they stay patient. Jaiswal looked composed and stylish, blending caution with elegance, while Sai Sudharsan has begun confidently and looks well set at the crease.

IND vs WI Live Score, 2nd Test Day 1: IND 106-1 (29)

Jaiswal brings up his fifty in fine fashion, marking a strong start to the post-lunch session. He picked Jayden Seales apart with three crisp boundaries in an over, showcasing superb timing and placement. India off to a bright restart after the break, moving to 106-1 in 29 overs.

IND vs WI Live Score, 2nd Test Day 1:  IND 135-1 (35)

Are we watching a white-ball game here? Boundaries are flowing almost every over as both Jaiswal and Sai Sudharsan go on the counterattack. Sai, who scored his career-best 213 at this very venue during the 2024 Ranji season, looks completely at ease once again. India cruising at 135-1 in 35 overs.

IND vs WI Live Score, 2nd Test Day 1: IND 149-1 (40)

A slight check on the scoring rate as the West Indies bowlers tighten their lines and show more discipline. Still, both left-handers, Jaiswal and Sai Sudharsan, look well set and in full control, building a strong foundation for India after a dominant start.

IND vs WI Live Score, 2nd Test Day 1: IND 175-1 (45)

Sai Sudharsan you beauty! He brings up a fine half-century, continuing his impressive form alongside Jaiswal, who is inching closer to a well-deserved hundred. The pitch, though, is starting to show variable bounce and low carry, making run accumulation crucial before it deteriorates further. India will want to pile on as many as possible while conditions remain good for batting.

IND vs WI Live Score, 2nd Test Day 1: IND 198-1 (51)

Jaiswal brings up a fine hundred, his latest statement of class and consistency in red-ball cricket. What an outstanding innings this has been by the young opener, reaching the milestone off 145 balls with 16 fours. He started watchfully, assessed conditions early, and then shifted gears to dominate the West Indies bowlers. The dressing room, including coach Gautam Gambhir, wears proud smiles as Jaiswal stands tall on 101*, cementing his place as a mainstay in India’s Test setup.

IND vs WI Live Score, 2nd Test Day 1: IND 211-1 (56)

A nervy moment for Sai Sudharsan, who nearly gifts his wicket down the leg side. Greaves goes short and angles it in from over the wicket; Sudharsan closes the face too early, producing a leading edge that lobs toward short midwicket, where Warrican dives full stretch but can’t hold on as the ball spills out on landing. A lucky escape for the left-hander, who needs to reset. Meanwhile, Jaiswal has shifted gears again, playing more watchfully after reaching his hundred, ensuring India’s solid platform remains intact.

IND vs WI Live Score, 2nd Test Day 1: Tea

It was a session completely dominated by India as West Indies found themselves “Jais-balled” into submission. Yashasvi Jaiswal continued his golden run by notching up his seventh Test hundred, attacking with precision and confidence to put the visitors under immense pressure. At the other end, Sai Sudharsan looked equally composed, surpassing his previous best Test score with fluency. He did survive a dropped chance by Jomel Warrican, his first false shot after over 100 deliveries of complete control. Apart from that, the duo barely offered an opening. With both left-handers settled and the pitch easing out, it could be a long and tiring day ahead for the West Indies.

IND vs WI Live Score, 2nd Test Day 1: IND 227-1 (60)

Right after the tea break, Yashasvi Jaiswal began with a crisp boundary, but since reaching his century, he has shifted gears and is batting more cautiously, content to play out the good balls. At the other end, Sai Sudharsan is inching closer to what could be his maiden Test century, batting confidently on 72*. The surface continues to play true despite low bounce, making it a batting-friendly pitch, and the West Indies bowlers are still searching for a breakthrough to halt this dominant Indian partnership.

IND vs WI Live Score, 2nd Test Day 1: IND 243-1 (66)

Reverse swing is starting to play a role now in Delhi, and the West Indies pacers would do well to pitch it up a bit more to exploit it. Despite the ball beginning to talk, India’s batters have shown remarkable control, with hardly any mistakes in this massive second-wicket stand. The visitors desperately need a breakthrough to halt the steady flow of runs.

IND vs WI Live Score, 2nd Test Day 1: IND 251-2 (69)

Heartbreak for B Sai Sudharsan, who falls just 13 short of a maiden Test century. Jomel Warrican gets the big breakthrough with a delivery that spun sharply and stayed low, trapping Sudharsan plumb in front after a long review. The young left-hander’s fine knock of 87 ends in disappointment, but he has laid a solid platform for India. Captain Shubman Gill now joins Jaiswal at the crease, as India look to consolidate and avoid a late-innings wobble.

IND vs WI Live Score, 2nd Test Day 1: IND 265-2 (74)

Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal are steadying India’s innings after the dismissal of Sai Sudharsan. The pair is rotating strike well and showing patience against Jomel Warrican, who has looked a completely different bowler today. The left-arm spinner has been impressive, generating sharp turn and bounce that brought both previous dismissals. He has been really impressive with his pace variation today. India, though, remain in control, eyeing a big first-innings total on this dry Delhi surface.

IND vs WI Live Score, 2nd Test Day 1: IND 290-2 (82)

Yashasvi Jaiswal’s hunger for big runs continues as he reaches a majestic 150, showcasing his growing maturity in Test cricket. Shubman Gill is batting fluently alongside him, ensuring India maintain full control in this final session. The second new ball is available for West Indies, but they have opted against taking it for now, likely aiming to contain the scoring. With less than half an hour left before stumps, India will look to close the day without further damage and build on a dominant opening day in Delhi.

IND Vs WI Live Score, 2nd Test Day 1: India 295/2 (85)

A bit of an injury scare for India as Shubman Gill collides with West Indies wicketkeeper Tevin Imlach while running a quick single. Play stops as Gill gets treatment. His batting partner Yashasvi Jaiswal poses two index fingers, as if to test whether the India captain has his bearings with him. Funny!

IND vs WI Live Score, 2nd Test Day 1: IND 318-2 (90) Stumps

A dominant opening day for India at the Arun Jaitley Stadium as Yashasvi Jaiswal led the charge with a magnificent unbeaten 173 off 253 balls. He and Sai Sudharsan (87) stitched a commanding 193-run partnership that firmly put India in control. Shubman Gill remains unbeaten on 20, ensuring the hosts end the day comfortably on top. Every session belonged to India, with the West Indies showing only brief moments of resistance. All eyes now turn to Day 2, where Jaiswal will look to convert his brilliant knock into a double hundred and push India toward a massive first-innings total.
